am i asking for too much?

ok lang kung mas malaki kitain ng kabilang movie as long as may kitain din kami at madagdagan ang cinemas namin sa second week para mas makabawi at mas kumita ang investors namin.

yun lang naman universe. salamat :)

my favorite Lindt chocolates so far

chocolates with nuts are the best! this one's very good.
i don't remember where i bought it though.
i don't see it in supermarkets here in Manila.

Uno with Europeans

meeting went bad in my opinion :(

i hate meetings with no real agenda but to meet and greet! it's so awkward. the silence is more deafening especially if there are 7 people in the table.

sigh. so glad it's over. never again ok?

3 hours of sleep is the secret

today has been quite productive, maybe because i slept at 4am and woke up at 7am. it's unusual for me to have the energy to work all day with 3 hours of sleep (i sleep for 8-10hours/day) and not be grouchy or sleepy in midday.

but today, i was really efficient and finished everything. before lunchtime, i replaced a makeup artist, went shopping for makeup/prosthetics in Cubao then went to the studio to get ready.

i even had the time to meet with an Indonesian visitor who works in a TV company there. i snuck out while the talents haven't arrived yet. we chatted for less than an hour in David's Tea House where she was having lunch (of all places!). i like her and that's not only because of the kopi luwak she gave me. she has a really nice personality and i instantly warmed up to her. there are people like that in this world.

this is the real thing!

thanks funny! (pronounced as funi)
when i went back to the studio, my nephew, niece, cousin and mother were already there waiting. my niece and cousin were one of the talents as zombulilit and zombabe respectively.

zombulilit

zombabe and zombulilit

at 5pm, i had a meeting for the premiere night with the Keratin complex team who will sponsor  who will also have a simultaneous premiere night in the cinema in front of us (both for Zombadings). i realized that when i have no sleep, i'm quite talkative and giggly, quite sociable, witty and funny haha (or at least i thought so). or maybe i was just comfortable with the people i was meeting with. i don't know how i would have been if i didn't like them.

i multitasked all day. didn't have a decent meal the whole day. was thankful when i finally home.

and now, sushi is tampo. i caught her eating her poopoo again (bad habit of young small dogs)! so i slapped her slightly and brushed her teeth. it's her first time to have her teeth brushed so i think she was a little traumatized. she thinks i'm still angry so she doesn't want to come near me :(

tampururot

next week, Berlinale group wants to meet with us and i am being forced to be there. maybe i should sleep again for 3 hours. it's the magic number...

HK: from Tai Po to Craftsteak

we stayed for 2 nights in the Sheung Wan district (never again in that hotel!)
it's near Causeway Bay but far from the other places especially the Tai Po market
where Anthony Bourdain tasted the best roasted goose! he's right!

but it's a restaurant that took us 3 transfers to get to so we decided it was worth the visit
but not a second time. unlike this sushi place where we ate twice during our stay in HK.
our number was 336 but we still waited :)

after eating, more walking.

street food vendors
the next day, we saw this guy drying the mushrooms
beside the road while waiting for a taxi.

Sheung Wan is surely the mushroom district
and Shark's fin too!
we saw them being sold at every shop there! que horror!

finally, we arrived at Craftsteak for lunch.
this is the bone marrow that Erik ordered. it was just an appetizer!
he ate 3/4 of it by himself. tsk tsk...

this is the half Caesar salad. i don't recommend it.
lacks the sour taste of Caesar dressing. it's quite sweet actually
(maybe it's the bacon which was not salty)

but this one's really good:
Italian Burratta Cheese with Marinated Tomatoes and Aged Balsamic

we also ordered the USDA Ribeye.
erik didn't like the spices on top. he wants his steak with salt and pepper only.
but i liked this because it's tasty.

ribeye good for 2

Craftsteak is located at Elgin Street in Soho. got this reco from chuvaness.com :)
afterwards, with our luggages one of the Pinoy staff got us a cab then we went straight to the airport.

so long, Hongkong...

HK: from the airport to second hotel :)

we were at the new airport at 6am straight from Erik's shoot.

we arrived at Hotel Panorama at around 1pm.
room wasn't available so i joined them for dimsum lunch.
afterwards we slept for 2 hours then we were ready for
the Red Hot Chili Peppers concert at Asia-World Expo!

this was the dinner we bought: 2 Carlsbergs,
1 hotdog sandwich with beans on top (yummy),
Coke and a Mars bar in my bag.

the venue was full-packed.

well, almost.

pinoys were everywhere! we were so happy when Anthony Kiedis
specifically greeted the pinoys in the crowd!

(From L-R: Lyle, Borgy, Karla, myself, Erik, JA)

here's one song i recorded: Californication :)

after the concert, the pinoys all went to Lang Kwai Fong to party.
we were too tired and wanted to just eat
so we headed to Temple Street afterwards.
i was so sleepy that i didn't get to take pictures.

next day was spent walking around in Causeway Bay
and shopping for blu-ray, as always.
at night we ate at the Macau restaurant.  nice lamp!

we walked around the area near our hotel until we got tired.

next day, it was time to check out and transfer to our new hotel.
this was the view from Hotel Panorama...

and this one's the view from Hotel De Edge. nice right?

but the catch is, it's quite far from the center :(

to be continued...

Edward Hopper

i've been searching online for paintings for my next plates.
i came across Edward Hopper's paintings.

Girl at Sewing Machine

Approaching the City

Chop Suey

Automat

Early Sunday Morning

erik and i went to an exhibit of his works in Italy last year. was that in Florence or Rome? i think it was in Florence. he doesn't usually go to museums or exhibits and though i didn't want to go inside, i complied because he said, Hopper's one of his favorite painters.

i'm not really an art enthusiast and there are few painters i like. i hate abstract. i'm into realism.
Hopper's works appeal to me because they evoke (sadness and) nostalgia, just like a song from my childhood would do.

my mother always listened to music and this is just one of the songs i grew up listening to. i don't even have an idea what the songs means!

i love Julio Iglesias. he's hotter than enrique during his time.
